What is SharePoint?

Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server 2003, what we call Sharepoint or the student portal, is a web-based application for saving documents or other electronic files and for posting information such as assignments, projects, messages, or to a calendar. In the Virginia Beach City Public Schools each school, teacher, class, and student has a personal SharePoint site. Student sites can access their class sites. Teachers can view student sites, but students cannot view a teacher's home sites.

Student grades are not available on SharePoint sites.
